High Pitch Whistle Sound from Dash

I have just discovered an intermittent high pitched whistle type sound it appears to be coming from centre instrument panel. Any ideas for a quick fix greatly appreciated as I am currently in N QLD and not back home in Vic for 2 weeks. The sound is quite annoying when it happens, very hard on the ears.

It could be the E box fan.

What model LM RR do you have?

Do you have an electronic brake controller fitted in yours? I begin to think mine is related to that.

Interesting - I have had this a couple of times, only goes for a couple minutes. My P3 is often removed and I'm pretty sure it's never occured when the brake controller is plugged in. Really no idea why the brake controller could be causing this.

Mine isnt very easy to unplug (well i havent looked behind the panels) so I cant test this theory.

Peterg, can yours be unplugged easily?

Unfortunately, mine is hard wired behind panels. Yesterday was whistle free so hope fully it will stay away for a bit.
