Gold City LandRover Gympie have finished a full rebuild

Picking up Wednesday Alan says goes like a rocket

Never heard back from anyone that had engine or half cut in all this time

so glad I finally was able to find someone willing to do rebuild

No one wanted to do it before Gold City Landrover

Finally good news. I'm very surprised that a used low km engine couldn't be found. I hope the cost as reasonable considering ! How extensive was the rebuild ?

    Engine Rebuild

O REMOVE ENGINE AND FR DRIVE TRAIN FROM L322 STRIP ENGINE COMPLETE REPLACE FAULY OIL PUMP CLEAN OUT ENGINE (METAL THROUGH EVERYTHING) FIT NEW RINGS AND BEARING REASSAMBLE AND REINSTALL
    TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS AND GUIDES
    40 HRS labour

no one ever came up with another low kilometre engine here or overseas tried everyone and kept ringing and emailing lots of promises but no results

Very Lucky that Gold City Land Rover was able to do the job other local Range Rover experts were not interested in helping or even returning calls

Thanks for keeping us in the loop mate.
Glad to see the Gympie boys could help.

Good to know for future when deciding where to get services and who to support for spare parts in the region.

    Thanks

I've often wondered how you were going. Some good news at last with your engine being rebuilt and the car back on the road. Kudos to Gold City Landrover.

Smile Car Dealers 3 Year Warranty

The Car Dealers Australia wide warranty only ended up paying around $2000 they provide warranty to a lot of prestige dealerships

You don't expect problems but check dollar amounts covered and don't rely on dealers advice

I had only done approx. 4000 ks since purchase and was lumbered with big bill still

at least have motor which is like new with matching numbers

When looking for a car last year, I was amazed how much an after market warranty cost for such little benefit, once a car had done modest km ie over 100,000km. I suppose from the insurer's perspective its risk v net return.

Good to hear it's going well.

Those aftermarket warranties are a gold mine for the seller and poretty useless for the customer. I have read some horror stories and had an acquaintance who tried to claim on an engine once, not worth the paper it was written on, he followed the recommended service intervals by licenced mechanics also and he had it added on his hire purchase loan!.
The recent dealer we just bought a car from told me straight out he doesn't offer those aftermarket warranties as they are useless.
