So I have been busy - 52L water tank and compressor fitted

So, I know most people wont be doing this to there rangies, but I did.

With the new space I had from removing the rear muffler on my TD6, I have been looking for options on what to put in the space, either a winch or water tank....water tank won

I found a good sized one for cheap (52L), and using some alloy plate, bolted her up! Only mod I had to make was cut off 2 of the tiny studs that hold the heat shielding onto the body.

Went well and there was a precut hole and gromet for the hose at the very left rear side. the filler runs up inside the rear bumper where a screw cap is fitted. (no pic atm) The pump is at the left side aswell and switched in the boot.

I dont have any pics of the final product with all the hoses tucked out of the way, eventually.

Now the compressor. Its not specifically rover related...but, I went a little over the top...again

Evolving from the pain of having a normal 12V oil less one (120L/m), to attempting to mate the motor from that compressor to an oiled 2Hp workshop compressor (and not having the grunt to make the pressure) I found a 6hp winch that needed some fixing and was going to mate it to another 2hp compressor housing. But fate intervened and I found myself with a 3hp twin cylinder big 190l/m one....yep

All in all, I was going to wait until i could use the single cylinder housing of the 2hp but I got impatient and it all went together really really well. a simple welding of the drive shafts and presto.
Now I can fill a 15l air tank from dead empty to 90psi in 15 seconds...why...i dont know why but now I have it.

Big fan of the water tank. I was looking at the space infront of the back wheels, I figure I could squeeze 35L in but it would need to be custom shape...

Yep, i had the same thought too, mounting will be a bit of a challange on the center side however without drilling
