Evening All,
I picked up a used Range Rover Protection Bar today .... (the black rubber pathetic example the factory makes) as I thought something would be better than nothing in my effort to gradually turn the car into an outback tourer.
However, it didn't come with any mounting bits.
- I'm missing the brackets that attach to each front guard to which the hoops connect too.
- The what appears to be 4 metal tubes used when mounting through the fromt bumper to the chassis
- The Plastic end caps that go on the hoop over the bolts you've used to connect to the side guards
- All the mounting bolts.
I've seen you can get "fixing Kit" VUB 502550 , just wondering it anybody knows whats in the kit , I seem to be able to buy it at lots of UK places but none have a picture of whats in the kit ?
Also and somewhat related anybody got a damaged protection bar they would like to see some bits off of
P.S - not looking forward to drilling the 33mm holes in my nice shiney bumper bar

Sorry Darren, I don't know what's in the kit.
The end brackets and the caps over the end bracket bolts will be needed, fabrication for the brackets would be fiddly but doable (you would fabricate better brackets then what they come with) - the end caps would require some real patience. The rest of what you list would be easily obtainable if you know the sizes - someone like me could be nice and measure what's there....
piece of steel tube cut to 4 lengths
4 hi tensile bolts for chassis connection + washers
8 bolts to connect hoop to main A bar
4 small bolts for the hoop ends.
Best ask the UK shop, assuming they still sell the fix kit.
Do you have parking sensors? All the doco talks about needing a kit for parking sensors but you don't need it - just a 28mm hole saw and a file.
Oh, yeah - and for what it's worth. The factory bar is a lot better than public opinion, it has a substantial lump of steel under the rubber coating and bolts up well to the front member behind the plastic skin. The bit that lets the show down is the brackets for the hoops behind the headlights!! Would be nice if it had a antenna mount point too.
