    gps units

Has anyone bought one of the aftermarket head gps units off fleabay? Mine doesn't have a gps so would like to upgrade. One from brash imports does pretty much everything and is supposed to be made for the L322.If the car doesn't have the gps you need to buy a special cable. They look good ,just wondering if anybody has any experience with them.

I'm buying a unit from erisin.
    Its plug and play.
I've got the MID system in mine at the moment and its average.
There's a few youtube vids of how to get it in and to work.
    cheers

I've bought myself one of these, also plug and play though they initially sent the wrong cable adapter. I ordered mine with 2GB ram and 16GB flash memory. It's Android, the implementation is a bit crappy but it does pretty much what I want. It runs Oziexplorer very nicely, and can see the 1tb hard drive I now have in the glove box. I can take my complete music collection wherever I go. I too had the MID system, which made installation easier.

Here's what it looks like in the dash:

It sounds pretty good. Hideous looking software, I'm looking into reflashing it to something more bearable. Also looking into running a digital TV unit in one of the USB inputs with appropriate software to pick up the DAB+ radio stations. A cheap and cheerful solution.

The perfect candidate for a replacement! My new unit didn't cost much more than having the MID unit repaired would have.
Could have attempted to do it myself I suppose, I bought a kit to repair the information centre screen in the instrument cluster (missing pixels of course), it took all day but was worth it, worked perfectly.

P.s. I bought my new unit through Aliexpress, very smooth transaction process.
