Mine does not do it all the time, or at least I don't think so!


So is it from coming off a certain type of driving condition or speed related? Not sure.


Pete: I have a ladder on mine plus rack so cleaning up there is easy, Lol!


I agree with the sentiments, the system must be used to keep it in good working condition. Like any moving part/parts, the more you use it the quicker it will need fixing.

Graeme how do you lower to 20mm below the access height? I would find that handy when loading unloading stuff at the back end.

Ah, ok, that would do it. I don't have that gadget.

20mm lower isn't much of an improvement for unloading but +30mm provides a significant ride and control improvement at speed on gravel roads that have bumps and ruts. Unloading 20L drums while still at +30 is unnecessarily more difficult though - my drop-off point is between my front gate and house so usually still at +30 with more washed-out sections to traverse.

after a few seconds of the car suspension sitting at a particular height, it will attempt to level itself. I find this particuarly evident on mine due to the lift and the weight in the roof rack and all other bits i have bolted on. coupled with just drilling a hole in my blocked compressor exhaust muffler, i can now hear when air is released.

If i brake hardish coming to a stop at a lights and dont release the brake tension (roll forward after stoping) the nose will lift and bum will lower to level. then when taking off, it notices the front it to high and the bum is to low and then will re level when driving.

same goes with stopping on an incline or decline, it will adjust.
and the only time this has caused me issues, is traveling in the vic high country off road, where there is an ungodly amount of hills and constantly going up and down up and down up and down in quick concession, the compressor was working overtime to keep up with the changes and began overheating.

so long story short...i believe its normal for it to be adjusting when pulling up at the lights. if it annoys you, take the roof rack off and you might notice it less...or just roll to a stop. :angel:

Gosh, taking the roof rack off an on would be a real pain.


No it does not annoy, just wondered if it was normal which it appears to be.


Good point though, it could be the extra weight causing a more noticeable adjustment.
