    U0248-87 fault issue

Ok, I have done as much research that I can with this one...

    06 TD6, touch screen.

Code: U0248-87 (2F) Lost communication with remote driver utility. (apparently adventure cam...aka not fitted as far as i know)
    Bus signal/message failure - missing a message.

Fault comes up after (generally) the same amount of time each drive, 10 min or so.

All other responses i could find on the internet is...."dont worry about it if its not fitted"...right...but my is bringing up all the pretty dash lights and lowering the suspension to what i can only describe as "highway height", lower than normal height but not much.

The suspension lights go out, but the system remains active. raising and lowering as normal if going up and down hills.

the battery was first point of call. but I have just added a massive bloody truck battery in the spare wheel well that is directly linked to the original starter, so all good on that front.

Fault clears after restarting the car

Fault sometimes clears when only "reading" faults with IID tool

    ...annd go

You just added the battery and the issue has started?

I knew i would forget a critical bit of info.

The fault started a few months ago, since then I got my IIDtool and added the extra battery

Could it be caused by damaged wiring, possibly under the back of the right rear seat where wires have been squashed on several other vehicles?

Tombie, this fault occurred prior to having the IIDtool.

Graeme, this could be plausible, I have the seats nearly constantly folded up. do you have any more details or a link to this issues?

Only that a wiring bundle from the panel in the right rear sometimes takes a short-cut en-route to the left side along the base of the back of the 2nd row seats and ends-up getting squashed by the seat frame causing various electrical malfunctions depending on which wires are affected. It occurs in the vicinity of the right rear shock mount.

I had a problem just below the right hand wheel arch leather panel where my main loom was crushed. It was causing the suspension to freak out and lower every time a bit of pressure was put in that location.
The plastic locating pin that the leather panel has was crushing some cables.
I taped them up and moved them to the side. No issues since.
I know where to look if I have any issues in the future.
