    C-pillar lower trim removal

Can someone advise how to release the top of the trim shown in the picture below please? I had the bottom unclipped but couldn't see how the top is released.

I removed that trim on mine when I had a suspension fault whilst away in the Grampians last year. Unfortunately I broke a plastic pin in the process but it didn't effect it going back on. I don't remember sorry Graeme.

Mine was on the other side but obviously the same. I reckon try and remove the pillar dress trim first. From memory the dress trim wants to be removed upwards??

Which one is the dress trim, the upper or lower section?
I'm wanting to remove the lower section but from underneath there appears to be a bracket held to the plastic top with a screw. I thought the lower section may slide forwards out of the bracket but the bracket feels as though its attached to the lower section. With an air-bag in the top section I'm hesitant to disturb it without knowing he procedure.

Maybe I can get away without not removing the trim any further anyway.

I realise that my D3 is a totally different vehicle Graeme but I have attached the relevant section from the workshop manual in the vain hope it may be of assistance to you.

All the best as it's something I always gird my loins over.

I took the driver side trim off about 12 mths ago. I'll have a look tonight to refresh my memory. I think one of my clips broke too.

Thanks Dale. However not sufficiently similar in that spot.

You need to remove the upper pillar trim to get the lower one off.
I removed the bottom with force without removing the top and broke one of the pins.
It went back on ok and doesn't rattle but next time I'd remove the top first.

I had pretty much come around to the same idea as the lower trim had to be bowed outwards (shortened) to free then refit the bottom prongs, suggesting that the upper and lower were joined prior to fitting. I'll have to poke around the top section some more.
