    Crank case breather filter

I was going through the receipts for repairs of the previous owner. $3000 for a replacement turbo. Notes say something about crank case breather blocked, causing exhaust smoke.
From what I have been told this cheap little cotton filter is often overlooked during services. So it has cost the previous owner a turbo.
I see that BMW have a replacement crank case breather unit that is a cyclonic unit to eliminate the blocking of the cotton element.
I couldn't find a land rover part number to cross refernece to see if one is available.
    Cheers, Mario

Justin, I was going to, but being a Land Rover parts seller I was trying to get it at my cost LOL.
Interestingly this turbo job cost the previous owner over $6000 with labour going by the receipts.

Those Land rover ones are the filtered ones, from what I understand the BMW is an up grade that is a cyclonic action, no filter to clog like the land rover one.

He got ripped blind for a start. I paid $60 odd for the BMW breather replacement. When my turbo died, I got a brand new Garrett VNT for it for just over $1,100 all in. Changing it is fiddly but not hard although I did other stuff at the same time, but $6K - they saw him coming...
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
