It's not hard to do when you know how.
The bonnet will need lifting until it is vertical - open it until it's sitting up on the struts as normal, then you need to pop the clip of the strut where it attaches to the ball on the vehicle. Pop the clips off, but leave the struts still connected - if you are in any doubt, get a second person to hold the bonnet now. Pop off the struts and the bonnet will open right up - then theres a clip on each side that swings out and holds the bonnet in that position. It's easy once you know how but a bit hard to explain here.
No dramas with disconnecting the battery - do the negative first, then the positive. Undo the 2 clamps and out she comes. Installation is the reverse but when you're all done you may get a fault or 2 come up - start the vehcile and turn the steering wheel fully one way, then fully the other - this recalibrates the steering and then the faults should just clear on thier own.
As for the battery, you've got a good run - I ended up using a 800CCA N86 in mine which worked fine and is half the price of the correct battery. Others may be able to give you recommendations here.![]()
