Make sure it has been serviced. Especially auto trans at those km. If it is a tdv8 then you will be totally overwhelmed 😊😊😊
Congrats. Pics?

Hi guys. I'm looking at purchasing a 2007 TDv8 Vogue Luxury with around 200,000k on the clock. What are the common problems to watch out for on these cars? I currently have a p38 as a weekender but the 322 would replace both my daily drive as well as my beloved p38. Thanks in advance.

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
There was a recall released in January 2015 affecting 2006 - 2012 Range Rovers called P054 - it relates to a fault in the front brake hoses. If the car has not been to Land Rover it could still be outstanding. Just give your closest dealer a call to check - otherwise you could PM the VIN & I could check for you - Shane
Hi Gary, I bought mine with 200,000 kms 5 years ago. The major problems are turbos lunching themselves and destroying the motor. And the gearbox.
I havnt heard much about any turbos in Aus causing problems, a good friend of mine is a tech that works on these at a local dealership and dosnt see many problems but the go to site for l322s fullfatrr.com talks a lot about the issue.
Check the car has had regular oil changes, preferably more often than the recommended interval, with the correct oil, to my knowledge there is only the recommended oil, and both sump plugs are drained. Make sure egrs are operating correctly, best to have them decommissioned, they also cause a lot of smoke. Always lets the turbos cool down before switch off. Make sure Intercooler hoses not leaking, they blow regularly (get some silicone ones)
Gearbox also needs oil changed, at 100,000kms.
They are the big cost items.
its not like the p38 where you need to fix something every month.
Cheers Paul
The above is a good summary.
Mine has 255,000km and is going well. It's been very reliable over the last two years I've owned it. Major costs have been an alternator, these seem to fail about every 100,000km. The other major cost was a new transmission and transfer box as Land Rover didn't lubricate the output shaft. Also, ZF seem to expect a trans failure anytime from 100,000km. However most last a lot longer. Variations of the 6 speed transmission fitted to the Vogue were also fitted to D3/4, Ford Falcon/Territory, BMW, Audi, Bentley etc. They are a very good transmission.
I've decommissioned the EGRs which the motor seems to like. There seems to be much less soot coming out of the tail pipe as a result. So the environmental benefits of the EGR are questionable for me.
Evidence of servicing on time seems to be essential with these motors.
You should also expect to replace the air springs at anytime from about the 10 year mark. They don't normally fail dramatically or suddenly. Most will indicate a problem with symptoms of a slow leak.
The big front brakes mean LR 18" wheels don't fit. You will probably have 20" wheels on the Lux L322. There are better off road tyres in 20" than 19". If you want 18" then Compomotive is about the only wheel choice. That's what I've fitted.
I hope the above doesn't put you off. The L322 tdv8 is a great on and off road vehicle.
L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow
