For anyone considering this...I had hummed and haaared about extending the LRA warranty on my car. Glad now that I did.
Warranty repairs since extending in August last year for another two years so far exceed $5,500, well worth the $3,500 initial spend.
The latest issue, a failed memory seat function which disabled the seat back movement (fortunately it had stayed in the right position) and an intermittent fault in the steering wheel, meaning it would sometimes require manual adjustment rather than automatically returning to the pre-set position.

(I know, a first-world problem, but I prefer everything on my cars working exactly as they left the factory, all the time.)

Apparently the issues were connected. Parts had to come from England, took about a month. The entire seat needed removing to fix the problem.

Owning such a complex car, it's comforting to know that if anything goes wrong, LRA - or rather, the insurer now - picks up the tab, no arguments.
