Thread: TD6 Turbo noise

Hi all been away for a while on the yacht cruising. The Rangy is now with my daughter in Bangalow. I dont drive it much anymore but as a good Dad i still get to service it & fix any problems. I just did 170 k service on it and noticed a wooshing noise when I test drove it after the service.
I cant see any colapsed hoses on the turbo. When looking up from under with someone reving the engine i could see the waste gate or actuater thing moving & thats when the noise cut in & out. I cant see any oil leaks all very clean & no exhaust burns anywhere.
Any ideas on what this could be greatly appreciated. I thought my Landrover repairs days where over after replacing the headgaskets in the Disco 2 v8 recently. Hope this job is not as involved.

Its getting louder will pull the turbo down & clean it next week,
