Dam that is bloody close but not close enough not much in it

Just as well you source your parts locally Mario as it wont be too much of a hassle to swap over![]()
Well it was just going too smoothly I found pulling the injectors easy, the 2 I was replacing came out easy, I was also impressed how easy it is to work on these diesels.
I had a recoed injector and a new bosch one.
The reco went in on number 2, the new one I was fitting to number 6.
This is where the problems started!
The bosh one is different. The injector retaining plate will not side in around the injector. The new bosch one has a metal ring with insufficient gap!
So now my repair is at stand still, until I can get a replacement one in. DAMN!!!!

It could just be the angle of your photos. The actual shafts on the two injectors appear to be different in the way they are stepped.
The diameter reductions seem to be at different points on the shafts and the new one has another sealing washer in its midsection where the original does not.
Just putting it out there. Are your sources telling you this is the correct substitute for the original?? It wouldn't be a first for me to have to train a parts interpreter in how to read a catalogue properly.
The new injector looks just a little too different to me. Especially given the original retaining yoke doesn't fit the new part.
That's my 2c worth of observation anyway. Good luck with it.
Cheers,
Problem solved, the gap can be increased, by pulling on the injector shaft, it then opens it up and i could slide the "ring down slightly " so the injector retainer can side in. it was just tight as it is a new injector.
Pic of new injector with retaining ring fitted.
You live and learn everyday. If I proposed to know all, then my name would have been google.

Well there ya go!
Not a day passes where you don't learn something new, though not always good or easily.
Glad you got it sorted Mario.
