    EAS Lights Out !

    After starting my LR322 this morning I noted the lights were out on the EAS dash control. I checked all doors and all closed properly. The vehicle is sitting at a height that is comfortable to drive but the ability to raise or lower the suspension is not functioning. There is no message on the dash regarding any EAS fault. So, I connected my trusty All Comms dongle to the computer which showed a EAS fault and a CPU fault which I read and cleared. Nothing has changed with the vehicle. Still no lights on the control switch on the dash and EAS not working and no message of a problem. I checked the fuse which was fine and replaced it anyway.
    Any ideas?
    anyone experienced this problem.
    It is 250 kilometres to the nearest Range Rover mechanic.
    I put myself in the common catagory of being a Range Rover owner/lover but can't afford it

    Does the All Comms give a code number as the fault or say the fault as you`ve described ?

    The L322 is a completely different form of EAS to what the Classic type and P38A type are .

    We have a L322 but it has not given any EAS trouble so i haven`t had the need to learn much about it .

    I will watch to see the replies when it gets moved to the right spot .


    EDIT .

    As i said i know very little about this EAS

    I had a look in the manual as it says ..

    The air suspension has 2 ways of telling of a problem , the message center and the LED`s .

    It says

    The air suspension ECU suffers a major fault and there is no air suspension control , all the LED`s will remain unlit .

    This seems like what you have so the best place to look is probably the EAS ECU and hope a plug is loose or similar .

    It has 2 plugs and the manual says behind the drive side of the fascia .

    The link below will say passenger side because the steering wheel is on the other side .

    i didn`t read the link just using it for ECU location .

    As to the fault, something like low battery volts can cause this - battery or alternator but this in unlikely but worth a quick check you're not down on voltage when the engine is running, or a stuffed ride height sensor, or stuffed compressor and I'm sure many other things. Does your code reader give you a fault description at all?

    If you've had the battery disconnected, the steering angle sensor will need recalibrating - this is done by swinging the steering wheel lock to lock when you first start the car - if this is out of whack the EAS will also fault.

    I've been trying to locate mine today, I found this googling and if appears to look different to the one in your link. yours must be from 06 onwards The part for the EAS ECU is RTQ000013 it is white and it looks more like the one in my link for earlier L322s
    .EAS ECU.jpg Photo attached shows it on what appear to be the Drivers side if on a RH drive model,
    yet Rave shows it as the Left hand side as per diagram attached in the electrical library.

    Here's the technical bulletin re the ECUs for the Earlier L322. It seems many were replaced unnecessarily as the ECU was not faulty.

    EAS ECU Problem

    Eureka!
    thanks for the replies to this query.
    After speaking to a couple of RR mechanics, I was convinced that I would be forking out for an ECU. The main problem being the RSW Solutions software showing ECU Fault after many attempts to clear the fault. I eventually sent the stored diagnostics to Storey at RSW who described it as a "difficult one" but suggested I did a hard restart on the main ECU. (Shorting the battery cables with the battery disconnected. On re attaching the cables I finally got an EAS Inactive alarm on the dash cluster which wasn't there previously. Connected the RSW, cleared the fault and the control light illuminated and the car jacked itself to the correct height.
    Three days now with quite a lot of K's and no further problem.
    We had an electrical storm the day after cyclone Debbie.
    the next morning my BA Falcon started blowing it horn all by itself.
    My wifes C200 Merc radio switched on, flattened the battery and won't switch off
    my LR322 EAS malfunctioned.
    what so you think, Coincidental??
