Went to a friends garage today and I replaced my front brake pads and the sensor wire. Everything went well and was pleased there were no broken bolts , seizes slides etc that always seem to happen when you go to do a small job yourself.
Jumped in the car and noticed the check brake pads warning still active. No probs got out my GAP software tool and cleared all the alarms, it re-read the alarms and said still present....dam
Knowing the brakes were good I drove home and started pondering if the new sensor wire was broken or maybe not seated correctly....why does it always happen to me, nothing works first time etc etc.....
Got home and retried to clear the faults, they came back. Thought I’d try the disconnect battery reset before I burn the car to the ground..... It came back with even more faults.
Went off to get the petrol and the fire lighters but thought I’d try clearing the alarms 1 more time. Success !!!! All the alarms cleared.
Im convinced there is an App in the ECU that just throws up random crap for a few hours after you fix things just to cause self doubt or long enough for you to ring the dealer to fix.
On a slightly different note can anybody recommend a trimmer to do the roof lining in the Rangie as its just started to sag in the rear. In the southern suburbs of Melb if possible.
