    Air Strut Replacement

Looks like I'm going to need to replace the front LH airstrut but it's done 188000 kms with the originals (OE).. methinks this isn't to bad for the airstruts to have lasted this long so I'm guessing it's time to replace the lot though. Expensive!!

Has anyone tried the Arnotts brand and if so what are your thoughts about them.

    Cheers
    Steve

    G’day Steve
From what I’ve read, on average the fronts last about 10 years with some lasting longer and shorter.

I bought Delphi OEMs through Duckworths. The AUD was quite high at that time. It might be worth seeing what Mario can supply.
When I was looking around Arnott were reusing shocks. That might have changed.

Yeah, mine went right on 200,000. I replaced the entire unit with Delphi units. The Arnotts bags by all accounts are ut you end up using the same struts and at 188,000KM the damper will be getting past it too. You’ll end up with new bags on grotty old shocks, but it is a cheaper option. When I did mine, I got 2 delivered for under $1K.

Edit - just had a quick look and you’ll get the parts for under $1K (around 260 quid each) but shipping will bring it well over. As suggested, see what some local suppliers can do.
