Locked out after sitting for 10 days

Well Gary, mine battery is charged and I tired the key in the door lock and nothing, so I am pretty sure I have a faulty door lock. I didn't think that Land Rover could be so stupid not to allow access via a key. so looks like having to delve further when I am able to.
Had a look at the EPC and it shows the latch mechanism and an inner and out cable to operate the catch, but I will have to work out how the key lock works, I presume there would be a cam and lever rod type arrangement , probably broken some where there to stop key operation.

Thanks for that feedback Mario - was getting just a little concerned that people were offering lots of ways to get power into the battery (and that is great) without first looking at the reason the door could not be opened - however I do appreciate you needed a solution that would work quickly.

There was a situation on the RRS UK forum where a car was parked up in a garage close to a wall on the passenger side and had a flat battery and couldn't get to the passenger door and couldn't pull the car out of the garage (noting handbrake on and in park) without damage.

All options that you were given were provided but in the end the car had the black and white tow plugs fitted so was able to provide enough power through the rear electrical plug that has a constant 12v supply - direct from the battery, so provided enough power to unlock the drivers door with the fob.

I had a win, today fixed the door lock problem, it took all of 5 mins. I removed the groment on inner door to expose the T25 torx , unscrewed the captive torx screw, pulled out the Key panel and saw that the end of the key barrel assembly that the rod that pivots on a knuckle have on an angle, so straightened it and refitted it. Seems someone prior had this out and refitted it with the rod in a bend position ,so it missed the internal latch hole. So I'm a happy camper now[thumbsupbig][thumbsupbig][thumbsupbig]
Sorry I didn't take a pic, but then the repair would have taken more than 5 mins.

They didnt think too hard, 4 of those wheeled jacks would have made it possiple to pull the rrs out of the garage.

Easier to plug in power through one of the rear sockets - particularly if you dont own any of the jacks and the car is right up in a corner - but yes there is always more than one way to skin a cat - here puddy puddy puddy [wink11]
