I had the same thing with my Century.
Took it back to Supercheap to get them to test and replace it, they tested it, but of course the 15min drive there gave it just enough charge to make it appear as tho all was good(I knew otherwise).

I have a dual battery setup, so my bad for not doing it right that first time ..
So a few weeks later, running late to get little miss 14 to school one morning, not only was the battery dead, the easy jump start button I installed on the DBS only drained the more than acceptable charge/reserve that the aux battery had, instead of assisting the start battery.
Pulled the earth lead on the dead battery, used the jump leads started 'er up, little miss 14 now at school(only just in time) ..
Luckily the Century rep was there when I got there, and I asked him to test it .. etc, etc. Supercheapo had to relent

if this new one dies too in less than 12 months, I'm dumping it at the closest battery recycler and never dealing with Century ever again.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

Glad to hear you can use your car again Mario; and top stuff Chris for your helping hand

Arthur it would be interesting to find out which battery has the highest rating and warranty for the various engine models; after reading this it just reinforces the notion that only the best will do !!!

So the RR doesn't have the D3/RRS system of being able to unlock the passenger door with the key - strickly mechanical no power needed?

My MY12 supposedly can be unlocked with a key when the battery is dead.

Certainly my RRS can. Why would you build a car that cannot be opened if the battery is dead - but then they do built them where the park brake will not unlock and the gearbox cannot get out of park without power - so maybe they do.

Rangieman tried his booster pack but it took a few goes before I could even get the key interlock to release so I could attempt to start, but with the booster it just would not turn over.
Chris said he has started other 4wbys and trucks without problems with the booster.

A suggestion for the future: an Anderson plug wired direct to the battery and hidden just behind the bumper bar, and jumper leads to match. This would let you start both your own car or anyone else's without opening the bonnet.

Hi Mario and if your battery is recoverable, and it probably will be, but be aware that you may now get unrelated error and fault messages when you drive.

This is usually a good indication that your cranking battery needs to be replaced and once replace, the mystery messages will stop.

BTW, how often did you drive your RR before leaving it for 10 days?

I do very little driving with my RR and would be lucky to go a week with out needing to charge the batteries. I now have a 10w solar panel connected up to the auxiliary battery and this easily keeps both batteries fully charged, regardless of how long I leave my RR unused.
