I am not a fan of any leather cleaners containing petrochemical. 90 percent of cheaper cleaners contain them.
Cheers

Another one that’s reasonable value. The cheapest facelift L322 tdv8 I’ve seen.

Christ that is some serious devaluation on a 8 year old vehicle!
Cheers
The extent to which I want to do home maintenance on a vehicle has been fulfilled by my D2.. and I do most of my own work..I cannot ever see myself wanting to take on an L322. You would have to have a lot of skill, time and money. Simply put there is SO much to go wrong compared to say at D2 and it WILL go wrong at some stage. For those that dont mind that fact then it's a wonderful vehicle.
Cheers
Ownership viability of aging higher km but more modern vehicles is an interesting question. I think risk increases when talking Euro 5 & 6 motors as tolerances are more precise and complexity increases. The 3.6 L322 is Euro 4 compliant, and 4.4 tdv8, last puma 110 & current Prado (for comparison) is Euro 5 compliant.
Build, component, design, and engineering quality also affect viability. I think the L322 rates quite well for these aspects compared to other Land Rover models. Land Rover QA doesn’t have a great reputation. In the past I think LR compensated by over engineering some vehicle components. But not any more, with the challenge/expectation to make vehicles lighter and better.
I think it’s accepted that makes such as Toyota, Honda, Mazda probably do better QA, which appeals to many.
I’ve experienced three significant issues with my 2008 model tdv8 L322, now with 280,000km - owned since 230,000km:
- trans output shaft wear (same issue on D3/RRS) so new trans and transfer;
- new alternator;
- replacement of front struts at 10 year mark (pre-emptive).
Otherwise just regular servicing. Maybe I’ve been lucky.

Mate I think in fairness you have had a great run. More power to you though.

The irony is that there is far more working on my RR now, then when I drove it out of the showroom.
The problem is not so much if the vehicles are reliable, it is whether you can count on the warranty.
I have always known LRs were not that reliable, but I always bought them new, so that if and when something did go wrong, there was "SUPPOSED TO BE" a warranty to cover any issues.
New LRs now have a 5 year warranty. I don't know why they don't make it a 10 year warranty or a 15 year warranty.
As they make it quite clear they have no intentions of honour their warranties and they use them as nothing more than a sales gimmick.
LRA is interested in profit at any cost, and just to show how bad they are getting. I buy genuine LR battery hold down brackets to go with my D3 kits.
I bought a batch of them in July, for around $9.50 each, BULK TRADE PRICE.
In September I ordered another batch, but was told there has been a SLIGHT price rise.
The new BULK TRADE PRICE is now $56 each + GST.
Where is the justification for such a price ripoff.
When the battery in my D3 died, it was $20 cheaper to get a new through the Land Rover dealer than I could get it for else where.
It is now nearly twice the price through a dealer, than if you buy the same battery elsewhere.
Nothing like customer loyalty NOT!
