If its the same as a d3/4 you just remove both leads from the battery and touch them together to do a reset.
Does anybody know of a good Land Rover/Range Rover mechanic around the Liverpool, Camden, Narellan, Picton, Bargo or Mittagong/Bowral area? I need an ECU reset as the car is doing all sorts of weird things and I need it fixed.
If anybody could help or you live in one of these areas and could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

There's the LR dealer at Narellan.
I don't think shorting the battery leads (after disconnection!) works on the BMW electronics of the early L322.
A failing battery will give lots of odd problems - as I found with mine.

Its worth a try, disconnect the battery leads and use a jumper wire to connect the pos and neg leads together. leave for 10 mins then reconnect the leads back to battery. you will find your dash data like consumption etc will have to be returned as you drive. Its done wonders on my 2003 on certain faults.
G'day All,
Thanks for the heads up, the battery has just been replaced with a new acid calcium just last week. I tried the disconnect battery and touched the pos and neg together and nothing but I did not leave them connected for 10 minutes. I'll give that ago if no good looks like to the dealer in Narellan.
Question: If it is BMW motor and electronics could it not then be taken to a BMW dealer to get the same done?
Thanks again for the input, I'll give it a go tonight.
Cheers
Tried it this morning , left them connected for about 45 min reconnected the battery and started her up. Lights still stayed on and she was still playing up. Need to visit the LR man.

G'day All,
Well, booked the truck in with the stealer yesterday for a ECU reset, came back. LHF speed sensor not working, RHF EAS leaking and needs replacing (full unit). Partially right. Mind you the service rep was very helpful and informed my of a cheaper place tp buy the front shock and air bag than from Land Rover. Drove the truck home and it was playing up as usual, riding on the bump stops. Locked the car and went top walk away and the front suspension pumped up to normal ride height, was still there this morning, started and moved the truck 2mm front deflated to bump stops then re inflated to normal and stayed there for my journey.
Me thinks the speed sensor is the problem as at times it connects and disconnects. Can some one here please point me in the direction of this unit so that I can disconnect and clean and see if that will fix it or I order a new one or even both.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
PS The dealer in Narellan will be moving, I think in a couple of months, to opposite Tyre Power and next to Ford Dealer on Blaxland Rd Campbelltown. Cheers
Sounds like the height sensor is intermittently sending an incorrect signal. Unplug the lead from the sensor, ensuring that the lead is restrained away from harm. On later vehicles unplugging a sensor will not by itself cause lowering to the bump-stops but I don't know about earlier vehicles.

G'day Graeme,
is this the speed/ height sensor plugs?
How do I open/ separate the plugs?
Cheers
No. The height sensors are located behind each wheel, mounted on the body with an arm connected to the suspension.

Thanks for that, so what are these two then?
