I connect mine, as required, to the battery (via the 12v post outside the battery box).
G'day all,
So I'm almost ready to take my latest pride and joy out for her first 4wd experience and someone mentioned to me the topic of tyre inflator. To be honest I hadn't given it a second thought because in my Defender I had one hard-wired and had completely forgotten about it in my 2010 L322.
So can I connect a 12v tyre inflator to the battery of the L322? I'm more than a little cautious (justifiably so I believe) when it comes to connecting anything to the L322's electrical system as I don't understand it fully yet.
I've tried searching on various forums and google but my searching keep coming back to air suspension compressors
Thanks!
I connect mine, as required, to the battery (via the 12v post outside the battery box).

Mine’s the 08 so electrics changed with your facelift L322.
I don’t have any issues with mine hooking up jumper leads or a charger.
But I run my ARB compressor from an Anderson socket hooked up to the AUX battery at the rear right quarter

There's nothing special about my MY12 regarding battery connections, just the usual precautions connecting and disconnecting to avoid sparks at the battery.

Yep, standard procedure is to connect your air compressor to the jump terminals under the bonnet, thoughtfully provided by LR since the battery itself is hard to get to.
Don't skimp on your compressor, get a good one capable of something like 72cfm (cubic foot per minute), with a decent hose and gauge. I got a pretty good one from Repco for about $140 a few years ago, they're probably cheaper now. If you're airing up all your tyres after going offroad make sure you have the engine running as it can be quite a load on the battery otherwise. Also give your compressor a break between each tyre so it can cool down. The typical duty cycle is 50%, 5 min. on, 5 min. off.
Thanks for the advice all, I ended up getting the Thumper Mk2 w/ 4mtr air-lead extension from the 4wd supacenter for $83. Not the fastest out there these days but should suffice
Eventually I get the dual-battery in there and run it from an anderson plug in the rear but for now it will suffice.
Hi, l use my via Anderson plug on the bullbar, that way l don't have rise the bonnet and connect to battery.
