Looks good and sits quite low which I like.
I recently fabricated a roof rack for the green machine as I had planned to use it in a new venture piloting oversized loads around the place. Unfortunately I managed to hit a kangaroo on first trip and car required new front components wish I had bullbar. So as I had roof rack installed and my daughter had bought me a rooftop tent I thought I’d fit it and use it over the Easter break here is what it looks like quite happy.

Well we tried the roof rack and roof top tent, a quick couple of days up the bush some off road work and some dirt roads between Erica and Gaffneys Creek gave the vehicle a good shake down to test tent and vehicle. The ignition switch was a worry only as much as the corrugated roads causing solenoid to play up but it was perfect so that was a blessing, the tent worked a treat yes, it’s hard for a slightly over weight and ageing old man to climb up a set of stairs but I made it. I did refrain from too many golden beverages before bed to prevent too many trips down at night but it worked out ok. The trip encompassed Nobles track and Germans spur track which were negotiated with no issue, I will say a short cut down Rosses Creek track, not the main one but an offshoot turned out very badly with the Rangie ending up going backwards down a very steep slope, I must admit I had made some mistakes i didn’t turn DSC off and couldn’t be assed lowering the tyre pressures so it may or may not have made a difference.
i had negotiated the downward travel successfully and did try the decent control which worked very well on a very steep and shaley section I ended up continuing on and made it out on the real Rosses Creek track.
All in all a pleasant trip with my daughter and here is the green machine in action.
Gavin I bought the same rack s/h in a fit of madness, if you have seen the Pos gutter brackets that come with it these hose clamps onto other racks are probably a better option .
Although I haven’t needed to set my rack up yet I will probably use some form of u-bolt arrangement. Cheers
