			6HP26 Transmission leak/dump

Well it’s been 5 mths since the AC compressor clutch flew off and cut the trans cooler line, bringing the planned drive to Darwin to an end.
The L322 is back on the road with a new compressor and trans cooler/line. As predicted the 6hp26 was all ok after a flush and refill.
I also got a few other things done while the aux belt was off like new belt and tensioners, new water pump, & diffs/transfer case oils refreshed. There was no problem with the water pump or belt tensioners, but they had all done nearly 300,000km. So done for peace of mind.
And the cost was a lot less than originally quoted, even with the extra work.

					Gday Laurie
Yes it’s a nice drive.
It was not a good look being down to the bump stops with dust building up even though in the carport.
I was guesstimating it would take longer and cost more so had it on hold while I saved a few more $, as a trans rebuild was possibly required knowing my luck. But no all ok, so happy about that.

					Gday Mick
No I’m still working on my son’s D1 and other projects are waiting. So sent it off to get done. When I got the final bill to do repair (mostly labour as parts, other than trans filter, already purchased) I was pretty happy I didn’t give up 2 or 3 weekends to save that money.
Unfortunately, it will take some time for the family to regain confidence in the L322. SWMBO doesn’t want to drive it in case it breaks down.
I hope your new L322 is going well.

Ah that is fair enough, sounds like a logical decision with managing time. And good to keep the old girl going, I've read they don't like sitting for too long either.
Mine is going ok. I've been progressively going through things as time permits. Replaced the rubber intercooler hoses with silicone, thanks to Mario (Roverlord). Top intake clean. Replaced 95% of coolant hoses. Not free of all gremlins yet, trying to get ready for a trip down the east coast from mid December. I should probably start my own thread though - I'm bit time poor at the moment like yourself!

Well I’ve had the car back for a couple of weeks.
The trans is doing fine.
The air con is underperforming.
The coolant fans are working harder than before. They seem to work hard most of the time I drive it.
Any suggestions, about what may be causing the above?

Thanks Laurie, lots of good info on that link.
I think the aircon is settling down.
I took it for a drive this arvo which was cooler than it has been. The coolant fans didn’t go crazy. So maybe things are just settling in.
