Like most of the world, Australia changed to and uses 9kHz station spacing, the USA uses 10kHz. This change occurred back in the late 70s. See Geneva Frequency Plan of 1975 - Wikipedia
Some radios have a switch on the back to select the channel spacing. It could also be selected by software setting.
What year model is your L322?
As an aside, I occasionally lose all sound from stereo, radio and CD. For some reason the system mutes itself by turning the volume right down. Rotating the volume control many times brings the sound back. The first time it happened, I thought the Becker power amps had failed as they are wont to do.
