Thread: TD6 2002

HI All
I have a message on start up which reads ' Select Neutral ' then another which reads 'Slow Down '. Car works perfect and messages go off after a few seconds.
It came from the mechanic yesterday who noticed it when test driving new brakes.
Anyone have any ideas ?

Those messages are when you are changing to low range - sounds like the variable resistor in the transfer case is on the way out. Try cycling it a few times from high to low range and back again, this may clean up the wiper on the variable resistor a bit and give you a bit longer.

There was a guy looking at getting some new resistors made as you can’t buy them as a spare part but not sure how that went - there will be something on the Full Fat RR forum about that.
