The equivalent housing on the 4.4 TDV8 is a single housing attached by screws to the thermostat housing rather than 2 housings glued together.
My car is 8 years old with 135k kms.Is the water manifold on the TD4.4 also prone to splitting like on the D3/4 Tdv6 engine?
Here in ZA we replace said part on the Tdv6 after 5years/100kms to prevent the engine overheating due to splitting of water manifold. Is the same problem present on the Tdv8 4.4?Should one replace the water manifold/housing as precaution?Any known cases where this part failed?
Thanks

Thanks Graeme.
Was wondering about that.So the water housing is a single casting which is unlikely to fail.Understand that the thermostat housing bolts to the water housing. The water housing was my concern.
LR022690 is the original and only part number, having not been revised. Check the pictures on the net. The thermostat housing LR022695 has been revised.
Mindful of the issues with the TDV6/SDV6 versions, I had a good look at mine when replacing the oil cooler gaskets concluding that it is a single moulding.
