Nothing in the workshop manual?
Have what appears to be a leaking front crank seal on 08 3.6 diesel L322.
Cannot find any info on what is involved in replacing that seal.
Want to know if seal can be accessed by removing front viscous fan/belts, etc and then removing crank pulley??
(Without removing radiators and such.
OR does it require full frontal assault, radiator removal and all, to get crank pulley out to access the seal?
Any special tools needed for crank pulley removal?
Nothing in the workshop manual?

I have trawled the .pdf manual version I have, and there isn't a specific task of "replacing front crank seal", (only as part of repairing engine or such). I only have a .pdf version manual, is there a RAVE version that covers 08 models?
Very LR experienced workshop I am hoping to get to look at it, say that they have NEVER had to replace a front crank seal on a 3.6 and they are not sure how big a job it is with engine in car.
For me, the main issues are how hard is it to remove the crank pulley (does it need special puller ??), can it be removed with the radiator still in situ??
I only have the PDF WSM too. Don’t know about RAVE sorry.

Try searching the Full Fat RR website, they seems to have loads of technical information.

After talking with people who have spent many hours working on 3.6 engines, their collective wisdom is that possible likely culprit for oil leak (which might appear to be from front crank seal), is a hexagon grub screw located on outside of oil pump body, which can become loose and allow small amount of oil to escape, and that leak can appear to be leaking crank seal.
Either way, they report that it requires full frontal assault of removal of fan, idlers, belt, tensioners and radiator etc, to get at front timing cover and that grub screw. And do the seal while they are there.
Am told nothing special about removal of crank pulley and seal, just hard to get to. Nothing new there then.
Just surprised I couldn't find anything (yet) on doing the job.
The leak started immediatley after I changed the oil and filter on newly acquired 3.6.
Noticed it as soon as I took it for a "run" as fine mist of oil coming from front and spreading under bottom of vehicle. (There are pics up earlier in post).
Appeared to be coming from front oil seal, but I re-checked filter and such, as no leak prior to my servicing.
Could not find any evidence of leak origin and nobody seems to have ever replaced a front seal.
Booked car to be given a "full frontal" next time I was in city, and it was looking expensive to track down the leak.
Continued to drive car (about another 8000 k's) and only minor evidence of oil leaking (but frequent checking under bonnet/dipstick), oil level seemed to stabilise.
Was wondering if perhaps I had put too much oil on first service? (maybe, perhaps)
In meantime I also had to licence vehicle for WA to had to put it through traffic with an oil "leak".
Pressure cleaner worked overtime and vehicle passed.
Took car to city for the "full frontal", but no evidence of oil leak and as I needed car we decided to adopt wait and see (if leak came back).
It hasn't.
Only solution we can figure is that car had a pretty sheltered life, and my driving is usually long hard runs (often at speed).
It appears that likely cause of oil leak was crankcase pressure forcing oil out seal, but which with my long hard runs ahs blown itself clear.
So first port of call with untraceable leaks might be to check crankcase breathers.
