IIRC the BT module which is located in the left rear seems to be a common source of battery drain.
Hi, My 2007 RR 4.2 SC has a parasitic battery drain. It definitely isn't the battery as it is new and correctly sized. The car was basically running fine then one rainy day I went back to the locked car and the remote locking didn't work. All that I could see, or rather hear, was that the radio had turned it self on. I thought that maybe I'd left it on (I hadn't). So, I fully charged the battery and everything was back to normal. Within 8 hours it was completely dead again. I had the battery tested and it was fine. So, it has to be a parasitic drain somewhere. Before I spend a ridiculous amount on an auto electrician, are there any common causes for such large parasitic draws? Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

Pretty easy (but time consuming) to check which circuit/s are the culprits with a multi meter set to amps (10 amp setting on most meters but better ones have 15 amp current settings). Pull the fuses one at a time and stop some thin probes or bits of thin wire in each side of the fuse holder and not the current draw. It should be zero to a few mA when everything is off. Anything drawing more that say 500mA (1/2 an amp) and I’d be noting that as something that’s drawing more power than it should. There are probably multiple circuits pulling more than they should but if you’re up to doing this you’ll be able to get a good head start on where the problem is.

my first port of call is always the alternator
Hi all, I recently had to replace the alternator, also the battery as a result of the alternator failure. Possibly this could be a similar problem with yours.
Cheers, Phil.
