Seeing you are new to the L322 experience. Did you know that if the battery is disconnected or gets too low to start, the car will display "Air Suspension Inactive'" message on the dash. To clear this just turn you steering wheel Lock to Lock and should clear that message and the suspension will work again.

Also you don't need a Land Rover specific scan tool to calibrate your suspension. Most bi directional scan tools should be able to do it. I have a Launch x431 tool that can do all systems in my 03 L322.

Okay, so I bought an iCarsoft LR v3.0 scan tool and was able to reset the EAS air suspension error code but can't actually find where the calibration option is hiding.

I tried to activate the bidirectional communication features using the unit to activate and test things but no matter the module or option, it said 'communication failure' when I tried to cycle any item on/off. eg was able to reset error codes but not address modules and activate certain items like seat controls, suspension valves. Very irritating.

I also couldn't get the iCarsoft or the GAP IID tool or the independent mechanic's scan tool to detect the vehicle VIN. I'm guessing this issue is what prevented the GAP from working in the first place since it tries to get the VIN before proceeding. The iCarsoft doesn't need to detect the VIN, you can alternately select the model to continue.

I'm assuming there's some kind of communication fault. I have heard the headlight modules can fail and cause comms issues, I'll try to unplug these.

All the systems appeared under the 'auto scan' option found some miscellaneous errors which didn't come back. The only permanent faults were:

    rain sensor not responding
the rear screen heater controller not responding
two rear brake lights showed up as faulty although they work (has aftermarket clear rear lights, probably the issue).
passenger seat heater temperature sensor fault

    Any ideas?

Have you checked the wiring loom underneath the RHS back seat ? Some of the earlier builds had the loom moving and being crushed by the seat at the anchor point; just a thought as it played havoc with the canbus.
