    Fuel filter leak TDV8

So a question re fuel filters for the v8 diesels..I replaced mine after my 6000 km trip to SA…with a not landrover brand…all good for weeks then as I wanted to go away last week with the van on the first day all good ,then as I was leaving the RV park noticed dripping underneath…hmmm…deisel..drip drip drip as car was running…as I wasn’t far from home and I had a spare I went back home and replaced it…
I could not find anything wrong with filter or seals on leaking filter but replaced it anyway with non landrover brand again …as that was what was supplied…all good again no leaks so off I go…6 days no issues..until today and as I look under…drip drip drip..WTF…back to the caravan park remove everything to get a look at where the leak is and it’s coming from the water sensor..knurled knob…..but now it’s pouring out with a trail behind me!!
I removed the water sensor thinking it’s the bleed valve.. spigot …but there is no deisel coming from that….it’s the bloody rubber flat seal on the bottom. I turned it upside down retightened and all is good again…
I am thinking the seal is reacting with the diesel and shrinking?
As on the previous filter it must have done the same..ok for a few weeks then leak…
I am still away and will monitor the leaking before I get home but has anyone else heard or seen this with non genuine filters..I think the brand is Rovin or similar…supplied to me by independent dealers…
The underneath of my Rangie will never rust it’s covered everywhere with fuel..I will clean it when I get home..
    Thoughts???

    Red face

So to follow up on my issue
The 2 filters I had were branded Recovery
They are just not suited to the TDV8
    The seals are smaller
The paint on the outside peels off from the diesel
The locking ring to make it seal I had to use a oil filter spanner to tighten
Cheap junk worse than a Britpart part I was told

The replacement filters seals are much bigger
I could tighten the locking ring by hand
    And no more leaks
    I am happy again

I never asked for non genuine filters, but that’s what I got..around 80 bucks cost
I didn’t know then but I do now.
New ones cost 110 that are ok

    Happy days
