It has 320,000 kms on it, so higher mileage.
So far I've drained and replaced the original fluid with Lifeguard 6, new filter and changed over to a metal transmission pan.
This did improve shifting but the fault was still there.
Yesterday I replaced the transmission solenoids and internal bridge and tube seals, replaced the fluid and filter.
It shifted even smoother, but as soon as I got home and shifted out of drive the fault reappeared.
This morning I cleared the fault codes, reset the adaptive values and went for a gentle drive for the relearning process.
It is shifting beautifully through all the gears, with some slight flaring between a couple of shifts.
The thing is, it dives really well until I shift out of drive and then the fault appears again, which also locks the shift lever in park.
It also shows a not in park fault on the dash, when it is in park, which makes me suspect the shift sensor as a possible culprit.
One thing I didn't do was clean the shift position sensor on the TCM, I'm not sure if that would make any difference.
Has anyone come across this before and were you able to solve it?
Thank you, Pete.
