    Q for L322 owners

    1. Manual says all L322 have a tow package...mine does not, no hidden plastics on the bumper bar, no fixtures I can see, anyone have a pic of theirs please?

Also what would you do if you bought a car from a LR dealer in Southport SE QLD or anywhere else and whilst in his ownership he missed the 35k service then sent the car 3500km to a new home..would you demand he fund the service at your local LR dealer out of principle? I mean its only $400 but I believe he, as a dealer for warranty sakes should have had it done.

I think you'll find the tow package would be just a few little things to have the car ready for towing - like having the wiring harness ready to accept the trailer plug harness, maybe a bigger transmission cooler.

Unfortunately, you still need the actual towbar itself.

As for the service, it would actually be a 36k service & a couple of thousand k's won't matter too much.
It's when you go 88000km between services that you get problems, especially when it's a supercharged Sport.

    88000km's

I think there are a few in the eventing paddocks, next event I'll look and try and get a shot of the tow hitch. I cannot promise due to the fact the new cars to be seen in are the Prado or Lexus (Is Lexi or Lexus' the plural?). Mind you a 110 always gets a few stares.

Hi DirtyDawg, I wouldn’t worry too much about the service interval, I went 14,000 on a couple of mine ( still only 2 months between ) and when I bought mine, the first service was at 1,500 and then the service intervals were to be 20,000 but this was changed at the 1,500 service because the quality of Australian diesel ( at the time ) was so poor, LR in Britain, had the service interval shortened.

The Tow pack was an option on mine and was about $900 from memory. This was to have the wire loom and computer interface fitted and the supply of the tow assembly.

The receptacle for the tow assembly is in under the rear bumper and should have a square plastic plug fixed to it.

    DD,

Looking at this you can (or need to) buy a tow subframe for an L322

Tow Bar Mounting Armature - Genuine Part - fits to chassis as a platform for towing kit
REQUIRED FOR FITTING ALL TOW HITCH TYPES - up to 5A999999

    You may also need

Towing Electrics Control Unit - must be activated at Land Rover Main Dealer after fitment.
    REQUIRED FOR ALL TOWING ELECTRICS

    And then the tow ball

Appaently as soon as you plug in the a trailer socket the PDC is disabled too.

    cheers
    Pete

Mine has the bar attachment shown in that first pic fitted with a big plastic bung blocking the square mounting but it doesn't have the wiring in place as far as I can see, and it certainly didn't come with the tongue/ball.

Would presume from this that the mounting was factory fitted but the previous owner never bothered to option the wiring to fully make use of it.

I'd def be kicking up some stink about the lack of service, you might expect this to be skipped when buying from a dodgy dealer but not from a main LR dealership - especially considering i doubt it was a cheap purchase!

Height adjustment is also disabled and you only have standard road height.

While on the subject of height adjustment, if you have to change a tyre, leave a door open as this will lock the height to what ever it is.

If you don’t and you happen to be on anything but a flat area, the RR will eventually will try to ride level.

BTW just leaving the tailgate open will NOT lock the height adjustment.
