    Cool Bought Bobzeds RRS

    Bob,
Was it the white RRS you were looking at, if so we bought it the next day. Thoroughly enjoy driving it. At present it is and will be our daily driver, but I do intend to get it dirty. Will be in touch.

    Cheers

Congrats. Nice choice. Glad you didn't end up with anything Japanese.

Hope you get a good run out of it.

Hi Bob, welcome aboard and go get that RR of your dirty soon, you will love it.

In my opinion, the earlier version of the L322 is actually more nimble off road than the current version.

    Thumbs up Hi

Glad I found this site, though maybe it was a little late. I plunged in blindfolded and bought an 03 TD6 L322 totally unresearched after spending months trying to get Landcruiser.... It seemed too good a bargain for what I was getting compared with the toyota - and I had the wife with me when I saw it - the 'cruiser now had no hope - ever. Only had it a week but I feel better now that I have read some of your comments and I am really enjoying the drive. I just hope it is OK when I whack the 2 and half tonne caravan on the back next month!
I also picked up a genuine (2nd hand) brush bar for it, cheap, anyone know how to fit this thing (3 pieces, I have the LR picture instructions but not keen to drill a 33mm hole in my new pride & joy without written instructions).
Lastly - really pleased to see others from godzone in here - and in the ACT - I'll keep an eye out for your RRS! Go the mighty Blacks!

PS - this is my first post on any forum - please excuse if I have broken any rules - I ramble a bit!

    Hi kiwi11

Sorry it took a while to get back to you. Yeah, it was the white one.

Would have been happy either way.\\Bob

Great stuff to see a few more Land Rover owners down here in the Canberra region.

Unfortunately I don't get any financial benefits from saying this, but I can recommend Canberra Motor Works in Mitchell as being the only reliable LR mechanical shop I've found in this area.

I'm seriously thinking about visiting the next LRC of ACT meeting (7th of Sept I think) to say g'day and hopefully meet a few of you folks.

    Cheers, Paul.

    Paul

The next meeting of the LRC ACT is the AGM, so as meetings go, it'll be quite formal. Check out the club's website which gives plenty of info on the club and importantly how to join.

    Cheers

Thanks Bob, I might wait until the October meeting then. I'll give my current 4WD club another month before deciding whether to swap over or not.

    Cheers, Paul.

except a Touareg v10......(long range touring king?!!).

Bobzed57, I have seen many of your threads on the Touareg site as I came close to buyng the brilliant diesel; safety wise and buildwsie probably a better car than the D3 I ultimatley bought - but then the D3 has proven unstoppable off road and I can fit just about any option I want by driving it into any after market shop.

I also looked at RRS TDV8 - not many options available as I recall; The spare tyre well fits a long range tank but none of the manufacturers had installed one at the time - they said they needed someone to lend them one for a while to design it. Second battery is easy, like the D3; bull bar - none designed I recall; drawer system - same, lack of demand meant none designed; this was 18months ago so things might have changed by now.
