I had seen a reference to using the dipstick tube to empty the sump but that only does half a job. I find that strange when the petrol version does have the tube. The 4L drawn out had to go back in so that the engine could be run to raise the vehicle to remove the guard then drain the oil. At least it has a dipstick.
