    Head Light Washers

Does any one know if there is a way to program out the head light washers. These are probably the most useless feature available on any car really as 99.99% of the time you never need them.

However, I really hate how just after you wash your car and hit the washers to get a quick clean for the windshield and the headlight washers come into play and put fluid everywhere not just on the headlights, waste precious washer fluid for something not dirty . Out in the bush its even worse as it collects dust in a major fashion making it pick up more dust after getting wet. Like many of us I have been out bush after it has rained and you may need it then but even then you tend not to travel in boggy conditions at night.

If not, will just put some small sprinkler micro taps in Line so I can use then when I need them.

I am sure many of you will have the same gripe even though it is only a small one . A headlight washing switch from factory would be a good idea so you only use it when required. There's an idea for Landrover

I was given to understand that the headlamp jets were only activated after x no of shots to the screen' At least on my D1 they were & I reckon things have moved on a bit since then.

What ****ed me off was the fact some bastard had driven in to the Disc & snapped off one of the pedestals, requiring a replacement even though I didn't use them. I think the Micro taps are a good idea.

Besides, LR are not renowned for taking suggestions from the audience although yours is a good one.

It’s in ADR 75/00, The washers are a requirement with HID and LED headlights, to reduce dazzle to oncoming drivers, which may be caused by dirty headlights.
Probably not a good idea to disable them...

And having a dedicated pump - those micro taps and the associated pump wont like them.

You could always try just unplugging the pump power supply - For offroad use only of course.

pfft younguns these days, back in my day when we wanted to wash the headlights we went out for a drive and found a river to ford,

course sometimes we'd come back a day or so late short a carton of beer and usually dirtier than when we left.....
