NT, I drove around for a few days with it out, and there is definitely a noticeable increase in road noise, combined with noise from the compressor and air suspension when it was doing its thing (air whooshing around from the air tank etc).Originally Posted by Numb Thumbs

I didn't have the floor in, and I imagine that alone would alleviate the noise somewhat. Replacing the foam tray makes a significant difference. that's why I decided to do that and work the storage around it.

My plan is to make a 19mm light weight ply replacement for the floor so I can install some T-nuts to mount tie downs for the auxiliary battery and fridge and assorted stuff. That should be a reasonable noise damper.

Fit some CarBuilders gear into the well. Then mount your parts, then foam attenuation sheet and finally some heavy vinyl.

You could have a look at GPI Velocity Sound Deadening sheets, they are self adhesive and could be cut to fit.
Hope this might help with your NVH concerns.
