Thread: D5 smart keys

Need a spare key D5 2018. Had specialist lock smith attempt to code remote (his supply) Tried 5 others in Newcastle + 2 in Sydney didn't reply. Dealer says $850 ex UK 3 weeks. This car was first of 5's. No sim card slot.

I'm sure you have solved this problem but I have been locking at it for my 2021 D5.

Unfortunately, mine has a locked RFA (remote function actuator) so my options are to buy a new one ($450) and code genuine keys with my newly upgraded, at great cost , IIDTool Gen 4. There appears to be a way to use third party keys with existing RFA (find locksmith with Lock50 JLR OBD Link Tool HW04-C Lock50 HW04-C JLR Key tool: SW01 - Read JLR Key PCF7953 Part Frequency Position Locked Status info SW02 - Read JLR Key NCF29A Part Frequency Position Locked PEPS UWB Status info SW03 - Jaguar Land Rover Precoding Dealer Ke) but it may be more expensive that replacing the RFA. When you install the new RFA, you add the two keys (max) and it is permanent.

However, if your RFA is unlocked (may well be) - you "should" be able to use a second hand genuine key (or a non genuine one but I am unclear that the emergency RFID start works) and add it using the IIDTool.
