    Buying Range Rover sport

    Hello all,
Have bought discovery 5 td6 hse in July last year and absolutely love it. Have recently been on land rover experience and highly recommend it. Whilst on the experience the instructors car was sdv8 range rover sport dynamic. I have always loved this car. Was wondering before buying one myself what others out there thought of their car? I know the new mid cycle update is to be released in April but suspect the running gear won't change to much.

First batch of 2018 RRS just hit the showroom floors here in VIC. Frist customer cars to be delivered this month but no demos (yet) to my knowledge...
As you mentioned running gear remains unchanged but be aware of the 200k plus price tag for the SDV8. m

Thanks 100inch, hopefully that means nsw is not far behind. Have you driven sdv6 compared to sdv8? I realise that there is a 100nm jump from td6 in my discovery 5, but if the 40nm extra from sdv8 would be worth it? Or would it be mainly a slight exhaust note difference? Looking to build this car as a slightly performance based, something to have a little fun in, without the guilt of a petrol motor.

    L494

Traded my 2011 L320 RRS on a new RRS L494 two months ago, both with TDV6, and I can't believe the performance difference with 8 V's 6 speed transmission and the 400KG reduction in vehicle weight due to virtually all aluminium body etc.
I wouldn't have believed the difference, loved my L320 that I had since new, but the L494 is light years in front. 0 to 100 K's takes about 7.5 seconds which isn't bad for a car with genuine 4WD ability.
The V8 would turn it into a real rocket!
    Regards
    Barry

Unfortunately I have not test driven either (I never do!). I am expecting my 2018 SDV6 Dynamic within the next 2 weeks. Have to admit that I was very tempted to go SDV8, but price wise it was to close to a FFRR or even SVR for me. m

Thanks Barry for the advice. 100inch just wondering what options you went for? Dynamic spec seems to be appealing more and more.

If you're going for a performance orientation you should look at an SCV8 too. They do use more fuel than the diesel but not that much more. The difference in fuel costs is insignificant compared to the cost of diesel DPFs and high pressure injectors.

I have the SVD 8 and think it is great value considering the extras. My model also does not need add Blue.

On thing that is missing on my 2106 model is TPMS. For a car that cost this much I am under whelmed that this is not standard. I purchased my car new and opted for the SVD 8 because of the standard extra features. Also to get some sort of a discount I purchased pre ordered, I am more about function than looks. To solve the missing TPMS I fitted this system, which was on special. Automotive Safety Products - Steelmate TP-85 Tyre Pressure Monitoring System For Android

The system is better than factory and was discounted to 100 pound . Took 30 minutes to fit the sensors in the tyre and the rest was easy.
