    SDV8 Service Intervals

    Hi all,

Did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

Just wondering if all SDV8 owners get their service done at 26,000 Klm's as per the book, or at less intervals?

    Thanks in advance

I get my TDV6 done at max 1 yearly intervals, mostly quite a bit less than the recommended distance. The same for other vehicles that I run. The service 'consultants' always look at me as if I am a dill but I reply with "it is my car and my money". The actual techs if you can get to speak with them are more comfortable though.

I hear you..........the SDV8 has a massive oil capacity of 9.4Lt which means that it shouldn't contaminate as quick as most oilers, however I think I would rather spend the extra $ and have it changed (inc filter) every 10,000 Klm's.

    Cheers, Craig

What its duty cycle? If it runs across (and I mean across) the country all its life then 28K is probably reasonable..
If you live in a city and drive it to work every day then 10K would be much better.

What is the oil spec for a 4.4 tdv8?

I agree $85 for oil once a year is less than a tank of fuel.

    For my non-DPF 4.4 TDV8 L322 its the same oil as the non-DPF 3.0 TDV6.

I buy it in 20L drums form the local Castrol distributor with a recent drum costing $146. Back in 2010 when buying it from the same place as a special order for my 3.0 TDV6 it cost nearly $400.
