New Model 2022 Range Rover Sport Details and Photos

    Hi everyone.

‘’Our order of our 2022 494 RRS HSE due for delivery in July this year has gone pear shaped due to production delays around the electronics supply issues, and the dealer is suggesting that we consider the all new model 2022 RRS.

Ive not seen any concrete info out there apart from camouflaged video and photos of testing. Does anyone have links to real photos, details on the new car, preferably not the electric model?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ken

    Hi Ken,

Specs are available in website and it says MY22 Specs. I compared those with 21/21.5 model and couldn't see any difference. Don't know what your dealer meant by saying all new model 2022 RRS. Is it going to be My23?

I suspect the dealer was referring to the next gen RRS, but that does surprise me because everything I have read about it suggests it will not released before end-2022. That’s a long wait.

There are very few differences between MY21.5 and MY22. You would have to do a line-by-line read of the spec sheet to identify them. Moot point if you are now ordering a new RRS. It will be MY2022.

    Hi fellas.
This is where it gets confusing.
‘We ordered a MY2022 RRS HSE to be delivered in July 21. This is the current 2nd Gen car and is now stalled as described due to the chip issue.

The new Gen 3 car is also called a MY 2022 HSE, but I expect that it will be later in the year, details from the dealer are very skimpy, but it’s the new design vehicle and his advice is that it will be available not much longer after the original ordered 2nd Gen 494, which must be the last of the production run.

So it’s the new Gen 3 car I’m after info on, as according to the dealer, it’s release is very close. The dealerships are having pre release meetings as he called us to tell us the news immediately after leaving the briefing from the dealer principle or whatever their bosses are called at Range Rover.

Clear as mud and bloody frustrating as a buyer. Im certainly not planning to inadvertently purchase a run out model at top dollar plus luxury vehicle tax just to have it superseded a few months later by the new model!

How is this possible? I would question this.

Lots of vehicle manufacturers/bike manufacturers release their next years models within the previous year.

    Its normal practice.

Whats confusing is the new model 2022 Gen 3 vs the current Gen 2 2022 model build coming as per my build contract which I’ve got here in writing.

I agree. LR normally starts the next MY build in August or September so delivery, not the build, in July doesn't sound correct.

Yes, I am aware of this. In the case of Land Rover the new MY usually starts from August or September so, the earliest delivery of a car built at that time is going to be October. It's not possible to get a car built using the next years spec delivered in July of the current year. The only way you are going to get a MY22 car made in 2021 is if it is made after August or September. Obviously there's no way you are getting one of those delivered in July '21.

From what I am reading the Mk3 RRS will be coming at the end of 2022 so will be a MY23 car.

I am suggesting that you query the dealer about this to be sure what they are putting in front of you is in fact correct. It would not be the 1st time a salesperson has got it wrong.

It's not only you that's confused about the dates you've put up...I reckon all of us are. No wonder you are asking questions about it.
    Cheers,

I believe that the new gen Full Fat RR will be released first, in the second half of calendar-2022. The RRS will follow afterwards.
