Absolutely no idea, but from the advice of the dealer/JLRA, it’s certainly not going to be a 2023 /late 2022 vehicle so I obviously hope Sean is wrong. He assures us 2021 is the year it’s coming out hence the advice re holding off on purchasing the 494 Gen 2 (current) model.

Again, it’s all pretty frustrating with the lack of dealership info. We’re moving work cars around and giving a car to the Mother in law in Victoria next month, so are driving a Mitsubishi ASX for the last week until the new car arrives. It’s ****en woeful!😳

Sorry Baytown, I really don't want to put a downer on things but I can't see it happening the way the salesperson is saying it is. There is usually quite a bit of hype leading up to the unveiling of a next gen model which is not currently happening.

I have taken the step of contacting my dealer and asking the question of them and they say, without doubt, there is nothing being released before the end of 2022.

I reckon you need to get some clarification from the dealership on this. Ask to speak with the dealer principle or at least the sales director.

Let me know if you want the name of the dealer I spoke with, actually, you could call a number of dealers yourself to see what they have to say.

It'll be interesting to see what you come up with.
    Cheers,

    Sean

    Thank you Sean.

We’re going to call our dealer tomorrow as we’ve heard nothing from him which is pretty poor as I find it hard to believe that they have that many customers lined up spending $180K plus on cars that they can’t deal with one customer per day!

May even end up changing dealerships (there’s only two in Tassie) if he doesn’t get more pro active. I’ll see how he performs and if unimpressed, I’ll get your dealership info from you thank you. I really appreciate your help and best wishes.

Cancelled our order with the Dealership

We cancelled our order for the new model HSE 2 days ago due to the lack of information, timely follow up and reply to our questions from the dealer. We’ve asked for our deposit and custom number plates to be returned, haven’t heard back as of yet!

As it stands we currently have no idea on when our contracted 2022 MY HSE would have arrived even though we were told late June, and the typed contract states early Aug.

We purchased two Hyundai vehicles for our business sight unseen last month, and the dealership in Devonport could not have been more professional or helpful, the total opposite to our experience with the relevant sales person for a $180-$200K purchase!

We will find another dealership, either the competition in Tasmania or buy from the Mainland. I’m seriously amazed at the apathetic service from the dealer we took on.

That's a real shame you had to go through that experience. If you could be bothered, you could let LRA know about your experience. Not sure it will have any effect though.
    Cheers,

    Sean

    Ha, bought one anyway!

I won’t bog down here with multiple posts, but we just bought a new MY2022 RRS HSE D350 from Buckby Motors Launceston!
    Yep, MY 2022!

    Hi RAR.
Yep, in the Show Room, only HSE, so only choice, only config, only colour = only choice at HSE spec!

After the experience with the previous dealer, time waisted, chance of not getting a vehicle until next year etc etc, we just thought Jimminy Cricket (been pulled up for blanking out a colourful word recently) we’ll just buy this and grow to love it!

Its a lot of car, no matter the colour.

Interesting 9 kw more than the SDV 8 40 NM less torque but 0 - 60 times the same.

Fuel economy seems a little worse than the V 8 but that would be subjective. Love to know how the mild Hybrid helps , don't think 48 volts will do much to performance.

All up the reviews look very good.
