You have to use the little white plastic funnel that should have come with your car.

Dribble it in really slowly and it should run past the flap IIRC.

Ebay "fuel filler funnel" lists a couple or variations so you might find one at a parts outlet.

The other alternative I have used is fitting a Vinidex 25mm PE100 Poly Pipe over the end of an unleaded nozzle. Just be careful not to drop the pipe into the fuel tank, fix it very firmly to the nozzle.

19mm black poly irrigation pipe in the end of a 19mm jiggler hose works perfect on a D5 from any size container..

Put the end of the jiggler hose in a cup of boiling water and slide t over the poly pipe.. hose clamp if worried .. i used about 8 inches of the poly.

Even better, drive an S2A, no sweat with Jerricans as they come with an in tank extendable nozzle.
