2013 Range Rover Sport blown head gasket

    Hey all
    Ok so where to start
While on holidays towing 22ft caravan I got the low coolant light n then engine shut down long story short ended up splitting the plastic cooling part that bolts on under the throttle body
Replaced that and also replaced the thermostat housing refilled with coolant bleed the system a 100 times but just keeps pressurising header tank untill coolant squints out of the cap (hot or on cold start up) SO
I'm 99% sure I have a blown head gasket iv took the car to a few mechanics and all seem to think the same but they are telling me the its goin to be a new /reco engine as they have had motors in the past that machining of the heads or block can't be done
Just don't seem right to me so I just thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone else has had this same issue
    TIA

You will get a better response once a mod moves your post to the correct part of the forum

    but just some info...
*its not a engine that takes kindly to being overheated.
*yes you will be likely replacing the engine.
*good luck getting a "new" engine, they simply dont exist
*it will be a reco or used from another vehicle.

*I have seen dozens of 3.0lt killed because the top coolant outlet has split.
*quite often its just after a timing belt change.
*quite a lot dont change out the top coolant outlet when doing the timing belts

*I recommend replacing the top coolant outlet when doing the timing belts and the half way point after that, round 70 - 80K
*if owners are unsure when it was done, replace it on the next service.
    Regards
    Daz

Ok thanks heaps for your reply mate
Yes it just had its timing belt changed as part of the major service I got done before we left is there any reason why u can just skim the heads n put a gasket kit on it like the old days with a blown head gasket

Have a look at this thread. The solution may be to find heads from a snapped crank engine and use them with parts from yours if needed to get a good nick pair. Generally where there’s a will there’s a way.

It can be done just like any other engine, a mate had his 2.7 done over 2 years ago.
You could try contacting Automotive Skills as they repair these engines.
