Mine recognizes the van every time, but lots more leds on the van..
OK,
This has probably been asked a number of times, but I have not been able to find the answer I am looking for using the search function.
On my D4 I had to install resistors so that it would recognise that the caravan was connected. Without it the revising sensors would not switch off etc.
Now with my RRS I thought I would have to do a similar thing. When I hitched up and checked everything out there was no indication the car recognised the trailer.
However, when I got back home the reverse sensors switched off and when ging into low range the dash indicated that there was a trailer attached - not going into off-road height.
I disconnected the electrics and reconnected them. Now the car did not recognise the caravan again,
Only thing I can think of now, is that I had my hazard lights while I reversed, and this increase the voltage draw enough for the car to recognise a trailer was attached.
Any thoughts?

Mine refuses to acknowledge that my all LED trailer exists but on the other hand doesn't do the stupid flashing stuff the at the D3 used to. No resisters fitted to my trailer. I can't recall whether it recognised the club car trailer though which is not LED based.

Busy day, but now I have resistors added to both caravan indicators.
Get I nice indicator showing the trailer indicators are working and activating low range gives a trailer connected warning.
Will see if I notice any difference when I tow next weekend.
Our van has "anti sway" hardwired in... it has activated a few times for reason I have no idea. Just a microsecond of hard brake, very disconcerting the first time. After that its just a pain in the arse...
I dont think I've ever felt the LR do any antisway stuff,, and to be truthfull I've never given it a reason too. Certainly I only know the van is there when passing a truck and the arse gets sucked in...

My D4 was completely blind regarding having an LED equipped trailer attached. I wired in a Linear Electronics resistor box to the indicator loom of the car. You could switch it off and on, as required.
When on, rear sensors were switched off. A Trailer Icon appeared on the dash and I'm certain the transmission shifted differently (which I'd read about). The Jury is out regarding whether anti sway was activated during this process or not, as some folks thought it's always on as part of the car's stability control systems. I dunno. Never had to test it, as I towed infrequently and never had any sway related issues.
My D4 was 6 years older than my current RRS ... so not sure what has changed in the LED 'reading' space. Sounds like it's a problem still to be overcome .... ironic in a car full of LEDs.
I can confirm that the trailer sway assist works with or without the trailer electrics connected. I managed to find an official Land Rover video on it.
Still not 100% convinced that my RRS did not recognise a trailer had been attached, but now I see the additional trailer indicator flash. Which now I have re-read the manual states may not occur with trailer with led’s
My D4 did not state that and I am convinced it drove differently when I added the resistors to it.
