Water leak from sunroof drains now no sound.

My L494 has the nasty problem of a leaky sunroof. Had a fair bit of water come down into the right hand rear quarter panel in the last couple of days now there is no sound form any speakers. Volume is turned up but no sound. Thought only the left hand speakers were working. Turned off engine then no sound after restart.
Where would I start looking. I have no idea. No audio related faults showing on iiD unit.

I saw this the other day, which may help.

Life is just a series of obstacles preventing you from taking a nap.

    Hi mate,

This isn't great news for you, these L494's have a bad habit of rusting out of the sunroof drain connector on the sunroof support panel (ask me how i know) especially in coastal regions. Mine spent 6 month in at Brisbane Land Rover last year

There are repair kits, but im unsure how effective they are, I assume it depends on the level of corrosion.

You will find that the water has pooled under the carpet, mine pooled in the boot area and filled up the battery compartment.
Yours would have flooded the amp under the drivers seat.

You are up for the 2 repairs, the drains and the Amp.

You might be very lucky and find a matching model number Amp on Ebay or if you can find an Amp repair place, but if it has been under water TBH its probably had the chook.

    Sorry.

    Repairs to roof leak

    Thanks for the info.
The sales outfit paid for the roof drains to be repaired and new headlining to be fitted $2600 and also paid for and amp and two speakers to be replaced.
Not what you normally expect from a second hand dealer. No fight just sent photos of problem and they organized the work. Would buy another car from them anytime.
