I asked a sales man that question re the heated seats for the RRS and D3 and he too was puzzled by Land Rover Australia's omission.

There are lots of other cars in Australia that feature heated electric seats.

The superseeded Discovery Series II HSE had heated seats as standard!

The Range Rover Mark III has heated seats *AND* heated steering wheel. Now if anyone of you think that a heated steering wheel is for wimps, try putting on snow chains with your bare hands and then let me know what you think!

As to when the rear reversing cameras are coming, I doubt it will happen anytime soon. I suggest you need to look at aftermarket solutions.... sorry!

Re the net, I have no idea what so ever.

    Sorry, not very helpful

I'll tell you what... The RaRo Sport body shell is _very_ strong and has been proven to stay intact in a multiple roll situation (just look at what happened to one of the G4 vehicles this year).

There are guards/barriers available for the Sport but I'm not 100% sure where they're from. If not available from LR, it'll be available from Mantec.

The Range Rover Vogue has a luggage net to divide the passenger cabin from the luggage compartment.

Can anyone shed light on why in Australia, the heated seats are not available. Dealer in Sydney would not allow even a special factory order for this. All competitor vehicles (X-5, ML's, Q7s, Cayenne) allow for heated seats, as does the Vogue. I don't get it. Most Euro passenger cars in Oz all have it either standard or optional, so its definitely not a climatic reason!!!

Does anyone also know whether there are plans to have reverse cameras fitted to the Range Rover Sport, like the Vogue does now? Again, competitor vehicles are all bringing them out with the parking radars. Great idea and very practical driver-aid.

Any news or information on the above would be greatly appreciated.
SydneySport, as you're probably gathering you're asking this in a forum where most of us don't have the means of answering your question because we don't have the means of buying your car - the most popular LR at the moment, btw. We are all trying to keep 20-50 year old cars running not wondering about what options are available on new ones... but...

Cargo blinds are a bit tricky, but there are a lot of aftermarket seating options. Heated seats ex UK should be relatively easy - someone brought some in for their old(er) Defender and posted a couple of months ago - try a search on seats and imports.

LR UK (and some European Dealers) can arrange private export vehicles. Not knowing your circumstances, except you have more money than me, that might be an option. There are also quite a few people on here who have imported their vehicles from the UK - again usually old(er) Defenders but the principles should be the same.

The parking sensor shouldn't be a problem aftermarket.

But as to the gripe, yes, I'd have expected those options on something wearing a RR badge.

Good luck, and remember, I tried to be helpful - I get first dibs on reversing it!

Now now lads, no one gave me a hard time when I joined with my "wallet/debt is bigger than yours" D3 V8 HSE , as much as I have had a smirk it is only cause I have gotten to know you characters over a period of time.

Now in terms of the questions, heated seats, would rather have rear locker, though can't see whay LRA would not have it here as there are some cold parts, but personally cant see the point up here in sunny QLD . Reversing cameras, must admit with a 3 1/2 yr old, the black beast doesnt come out to play unless I know exactly where he is, ie prevention is better than the cure. Bit like blaming a fat kid on Mcdonalds, where is the parents responsibility?? Cargo barrier they have just recently bought one out for for the D3, 6mths ago I couldnt get one, best bet would be to ring around the likes of Milfords etc.

    Great vehicle, great off road,

    Regards

    Stevo

Have a look under the seat to see if the wires are there for the heating. I have a base disco 2, and the heaters are there, just need to get the switches from pommyland.
Not sure about the reversing camera but one of the better aftermarket units should interface ok, and will be cheaper than from the factory. Hunt around the specialist audio type shops, work out what you want and then have it fitted before you take delivery wso its under the finance package. Hope this helps.
