I would steer clear unless it's dirt cheap and can factor in a replacement transfer case, and if you learnt to drive in a defender i'm betting that an ewok isnt the car for you - I would be looking at a clean Disco 2.

 Used Evoque - Possible issues/costs
		Hi all,
I'm fresh out of University looking to buy a first car. Learnt to drive in my Dads Defender (1993 110 200tdi that he's had since new) and am currently borrowing. Was originally looking at buying a 2012-2014 Freelander 2 however came across this Evoque.

Owner states "note: has noisy transfer case but hasn't affected driving". From my understanding she means the Haldex system (Pretty sure its 4th gen as its 2013.) Would anyone be able to advise? Is it just a replacement of the units pump? A full rebuild? Is it worth it?
Thanks in advance

I did consider a disco 2 but as lovely as they are, theyre too big, Im a good ~10 years away from a family and if 4x4ing Ill probably just borrow Dads Fender. Same goes for the disco 3's and 4's, beautiful dream cars, but a little too expensive and big for now. Thats why I was looking at the 'Gaylander 2's' (Nice upright seating position similar to discos and fender) and more recently the 'ewoks' (Not really a Landrover) for daily driving.
Only issues with those two that I've seen that aren't the same wear and tear common with other cars is the rear diff / 4th gen Haldex system. Did some more research had to switch to VW as there's not much info from LR circles (Should've done it earlier,) seems like if the noise is occurring at idle, likely the Haldex pump dying, otherwise likely carrier bearings.
