By the way it has new timing belt kit, just under 100 000 miles .
Hello from rainy UK. Evoque 2012 SD4 2.2 diesel automatic.
January i purchased an evoque for 700 pounds with a problem, cranks but does not start.
Started with inspecting and found out no fuel goes to the fuel filter.
Replaced in-tank pump. There was water contamination in the tank because diesel was like melted butter.
Cleaned tank, new pump, new fuel filter.
Fuel goes to the filter and after.
Cranks but doesnt start.
I have tested the Volume control valve in the bottom of the HPFP with multimeter and seems it works.
I have tested the fuel pressure valve that stays on the fuel rail and it works as well.
There is fuel in the rail but still doesnt start. When i slightly undo the injector return pipes i see the fuel is under pressure.
While cranking Revs go about 200 so the crankshaft sensor must be fine, but it shows Desired pressure 50Mpa and i only have 1-2 Mpa.
I dont want to buy another pump, or rail , or fuel pressure sensor or valve.
Can you advise what could it be?
Seems like something electrical , something blocking it. It started for a second and cut off. Started with the help of Easy Start spray.
I get P0087 low fuel pressure .
Read something about inertia switch or crash mode. Car was without battery for 10hours while charging it but that didnt reset anything.
I am kind of stuck .
Could you advise what the problem might be please?
Regards
Boris

My understanding is that if water gets to the HPFP of any modern diesel engine then that pump and all injectors need to be replaced and the pipes too, although I suspect the pipes could be flushed clean.
