    Picking up 2.0T HSE luxury

Excited to pick up our new disco sport tmrw. Ordered last September - happy to wait for new engine and entertainment system upgrade.
White with black pack, pano roof, Towbar, racks,Blind spot warning. Opted for the service option which seems good value though it's handcuffs to a dealer. New model with ingenium 2.0TD engine. Will provide feedback over the next few weeks. Saying goodbye to 10year old top spec Prado 4.0L V6 petrol. Kids have all moved on so disco should be more economic and a few tech updates - think /hope it will be a good experience. I will miss the Prado- best cruising car ever.

Have you got the 132kW engine like me?

The engine is OK but a bit disappointed with the turbo lag since they were supposed to be reducing it. I am getting between 8 and 9 l/100km, which is not as good as expected either. Adequate power but not huge. Quiet under normal conditions but noisy if it is revved a lot.

The engine also uses Add Blue, which I was definitely not expecting. Mine is currently at around 4500km and it is telling me to top up the Add Blue soon. However, when I look at projected km before empty it is telling me 2500km so I will wait a bit longer to top up. If you let it go too low the car won't start until it is topped up.

No Bob, I bought right on the changeover and had the option but specifically wanted the 2.2L. Would have liked the new Infotainment system though....

TTTTTT - Love the name. I once won a game where we had to pick a title and artist starting with the letter T. Most people got either an artist or title starting with T. I was universally bagged out when I chimed in with "Tip Toe Through The Tulips, by Tiny Tim". By the way, enjoy the car!

I'm loving the Adaptive Cruise, Active Drive Line and Adaptive Dynamics as well as all the cameras and sensors that mine has. The Active Drive line acts as a locking centre diff and computer controlled locking rear diff all at the same time while being completely disconnected for use in 2 wheel drive only. Pretty clever and relatively cheap solution for a basically front wheel drive car to give it full 4WD capability. You can watch what is happening on the screen, which is also cool.

I must add it to my signature I suppose. I still don't think of it as a real 4WD like my D4 is, although I have done a couple of difficult little steep and rutted tracks with no issues at all!

All the toys - yea would be nice. Always felt nervous about Adaptive cruise, but I'm sure id swear by it if I had it. I've played around on the beach, mud and some lighter tracks and I must say it is far more capable than I initially wanted to give it credit for. Those electronic driving modes are pretty well thought out. I have no intention of heading into heavy underbody destroying stuff like I used to, so the 550 suits me well. Still looking to purchase a second set of 17 inch wheels so I can keep the 20s in one piece for the road.
